This past week we were fortunate enough to have a chat with Zach Ledgerwood – co-owner of The Gray Whale. We wanted to find out more about his business and how we can support them once they are able to re-open during Ottawa’s phase 2 which is currently scheduled for July 2nd.

Gray Winchell and Zach Ledgerwood have been in business for the last five years and feel fortunate to have such a prime location in Hintonburg on Somerset Street West in Ottawa. Their business has grown organically mainly through word of mouth and is built on positive experience, quality haircut and great people. Their shop has become a staple in the community and their many positive reviews on Google speaks volume about the exceptional high-quality experience they deliver.

Throughout the pandemic, their ability to pivot was not as easy as many other business models that were able to deliver their core services online. The team took time with their families, started new hobbies and took on other employment opportunities while the shop was closed. Everyone is really looking forward to getting back to their chairs to do what they do best.

“We’re really excited to see our regular clients back in, any time we have anyone new in the shop it’s honestly exciting for everyone.”

With a small talented team of 4, plus 3 apprentices that will be re-joining the shop come re-opening, they all have a strong desire to deliver the best possible experience. “I really believe the experience at the shop is special and we’re always excited to share that with new customers.”
